In
1979, 12-year-old John Herman began selling promotional
products in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio for his Uncle's
company, Incentives for Industry, Inc. which was based in
Toledo, Ohio. By age 16 he had founded his own promotional
products business in Cleveland and acquired a broad base of
clients including Fortune 500 companies. John then sold this
business before entering college. Since that time, though his
Private Equity entity, John has successfully invested and/or started,
acquired, built-up, and sold several successful promotional
products and marketing businesses.
For 16 years John was the owner and CEO of Incentive
Merchandising Corporation, a full-service promotional
products, sales promotion, marketing and fulfillment business
which handled large-scale corporate identity and promotional
merchandising programs. This company was sold to industry
leader, Halo Branded Solutions.
Having quite literally grown up as an entrepreneur in the
promotional product industry, John understands every challenge
faced by companies in this field. Over his 30-plus-year career he
has seen countless instances where promotional products
and marketing companies missed key growth
opportunities, or stumbled financially, due to cash flow and
working capital issues.
Recognizing that traditional bank financing could seldom
provide solutions for these financing dilemmas, John formed
Promotional Capital LLC. He finds it gratifying to be able
to provide financing solutions that enable promotional
products companies and other marketing concerns to operate and
grow their businesses without the worry of having enough
working capital.
John has been a business consultant to small to mid-size
companies, including many in the promotional products and
marketing industries. Beyond offering financial solutions
